As the band from Eisenhower Junior High School in Darien continued playing the “Star-Spangled Banner,” Andrew barely missed a beat. This kid's face and reaction is priceless!

Drumline Humor: Honk War
This
is a funny drum video called Honk War. An innocent meeting at a traffic
lights quickly escalates into an all out war over who has the better
skills playing the car horn. The battle climaxes when one driver pulls
out a pair of drumsticks and starts drumming on the steering wheel.
Hilarious! And something I’ve totally done before (drum on the steering wheel that is, not get into a honk war). Watch the funny drum
video below:

Tummy Talk: An Epic Drum Solo
My brother sent my this funny drum video as three percussionists lay down some epic drum soloing action in Tummy Talk.
I really wish I had seen this back in high school. We could have used this idea in Trash Talk.

Boise State girl tearin' it up on the cowbell!
My New Years Resolution has been to post more frequently to Percussion and Drum Stuff this year, especially more drumline sheet music and funny band videos. And speaking of drum videos, embedded below is one that is recently trending from the college football bowl season.
I guess on the cowbell enthusiasm-meter, you've got Will Ferrell on one end, and this girl on the other

Blue Man Group Tour Review
I watched the Blue Man Group perform at the Palace Theater in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday. This is the second time in the past twelves months that I've seen the blue men perform, and third time overall with the previous two being the permament show in Orlando at Universal's Citywalk. Those first two viewings at Universal Orlando were pretty much identical shows. Going into this performance, I was hoping the show would be little bit different and it was! The major changes from the Orlando version was the addition of the Gi-pads ("to do for reading what texting has done for driving!") These giants screens basically serve as a way to transition between the different segments of the show.
Which show did I prefer? While the Blue Man Group tour was plenty entertaining I have to say the Universal Orlando version is superior mainly due to the fact that the theater was custom built and designed specifically for their show. The biggest problem at the Palace was not being able to see everything on stage. Orlando has a smaller, more intimate theater.
What is the Blue Man Group? It's not just about drumming. Actually, being a hard core WGI and DCI fan, the actual drumming in the show by the Blue Men is not impressive at all. However, the show is about way more than drumming. Drumming is only a tiny part. The show is more about entertainment and comedy, technology and cool effects. It's fun for the whole family. I also appreciate some of the themes in the show, such as go out and have a real experience instead of living your life through your phone by texting and tweeting.

2011 Howl-O-Scream Monster Stomp Rehearsal
Experience the revamping of a classic - vampires have come to the
monster stomp party, and they are dying to have a good time. Witches,
skeletons and beasts join them in Busch Gardens' high powered musical
"rockstravaganza." This show contains adult themes. Parental supervision
is advised.
Reminds me of this.

Goofy Jams On Drums at Walt Disney World Resort
I got a kick out of today's Disney Parks Blog video. This time it's Goofy showing off his unique drumming skills during the 2011 Vex Robotics World Championship at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Check it out – even the JAMMitors were surprised. This video really reminds me of something, I wonder where they got the idea?
Also, don't forget to enter our contest for a chance to win $100! It's very easy so hurry on and sign up before the August 1st deadline.

Want to make a career out of drumming?
World Beat Drummers at Islands of Adventure
From Orlando Theme Park News: As you know, since Islands of Adventure had a huge boost in attendance last year, the Universal management started to put many small shows and entertainment bands around the parks. This year, near Jurassic Park River Adventure we can find the World Beat Drummers, which are great in interacting (or at least trying to interact) with guests passing by.

Marching Band Performs the Bed Intruder Song!
This is the ending to the show that the band performed at the Sprite Battle of the Bands in Charlotte, NC on August 28, 2010.
The clip features "Imma Be" by The Black Eyed Peas and of course, the "Bed Intruder Song" by Antoine Dodson and the Gregory Brothers.
Music was arranged and taught by yours truly, and I shot some of the video as well, along with Harvey Thompson, Keon Galloway, and Kevin Greene on the BGMM Media Team. More band staff credits appear in-video.
Music arrangements were written by me using Finale 2011. Video shot with various cameras, including my trusty Canon EOS 5d mkII. Edited by me using MPEG Streamclip, Final Cut Pro, and Compressor.
